Built in 1898, the BenRiach distillery, like most distilleries of that time, used local ingredients to define its style of whisky. From the barley grown near the distillery to the water drawn through the rock that lies deep below, and the peat cut from the hills to fire the kiln, this is a single malt whisky with a true sense of its place. For more than one hundred years, this small artisan distiller has been quietly producing some of the finest peated malts in Speyside and they're starting to get due recognition. We called in a favor to the importer and got a hold of some of their rare single-cask expressions which are awfully hard to come by these days. Supplies are extremely limited. Word is getting out and these won't be around for long.
