Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey, and Chef de Partie (at the time) Lachlan Mackinnon- Patterson met while working at the ethereal Yountville Restaurant, The French Laundry. The two soon discovered a mutual admiration (to put it mildly) for the Friuli region in Italy’s mountainous north. Inspired, they soon founded Frasca Restaurant in Boulder, CO. On a buying trip to Fruili, the pair seized the opportunity to create their own label and Scarpetta wines were born. The dream team works closely with acclaimed consultants Christian Patat and Luca Sirch and the ensemble rouses amazing results. From a pink bubbly to a stunning Barbera, these guys know how to make wines that pair well with, and elevate, the flavors in food. To see these industry legends go from an inspired dream to fait accompli is delightful. Scarpetta is a real coup.
