When one of the Napa Valley's most iconic producers, a guy who regularly gets top marks from both Parker and the Spectator, called us to let us know he had more Cabernet Sauvignon fruit than he knew what to do with, we were all ears. When he began ticking off the sites he'd sourced his fruit from, we knew we had to make this wine.
After spending fifteen months in French oak, this wine was given the name Vigilante for good reason. All of the vineyards offered us brawny, physiologically ripe fruit that was anything but subtle. In terms of intensity, this is a big boy red.
