Arran 1996 'Single Sherry Cask' Single Malt Whisky Isle of Arran

As of one of the newest distilleries in Scotland (production began in 1995), Arran is producing top-notch single malts in order to compete with the more established distillers. The recent release of the 1996 "Sherry Cask" is proof that they are able to compete! The initial aromas of rich toffee and Madagascar vanilla transform into dried apricot, hazelnuts and sherry as this single malt opens up in the glass. The palate reflects what the nose delivers. Long lingering spiciness (ginger and clove) engulfs the palate as a slight bit of heat and dryness kick in on the finish. With bottlings like this, it is apparent why Arran's single malts are becoming sought after! Be sure to snap this one up while you still can!
