Terroir Gin is an ode to the wild beauty of the Golden State. Distiller Lance Winters has a passion for exploring place and memory through distillation, and the aromas of the coastal forests on California's Mount Tam were what inspired him to start making gin in the first place. Terroir Gin has an intense earthy, woodsy nose and flavor derived from Douglas fir, California bay laurel, and California coastal sage – complemented by bright, citrusy top notes. This is a unique and proudly Californian gin with a sense of place and poetry and makes the most interesting Martini you’ve never had.

     Unique gin with a ton of possibilities

    This gin has such a lovely nose of earthiness and bold alcohol. Wow! Made me mix up a martini with a splash of Antica Formula super premium sweet vermouth, a little Fever Tree Mediteranian tonic and stir all gently together to make it good and cold. Strain into a frosted glass and garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary and a skewer with a large blackberry and a cube of brie cheese. I know it sounds strange - but I followed my nose, and this combination absolutely shows off this wonderfully strong, complex gin. Looks great. Smells great. Tastes really fantastic. This beast is a bit too strong to just enjoy straight up - but for mixing and garnishing: what a joy. Almost no citrus in this one, and instead of a giant stroke of juniper - it has everything else: earth, leather, smoke, pine needles, herbs. All showing in layers. Very, very nice.
