With a package like this, "pride" is an understatement. Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden has truly outdone himself with this beautifully crafted extraordinary and ultra-rare whisky. A 10-year secondary maturation in Chateau D’Yquem Sauternes casks has imparted this 28-year-old bottling with a deep gold color and a bouquet exploding with baked apple, licorice, nutmeg and exotic fruit. Sponge cake drizzled in chocolate sauce, ripe honeydew melons and Madagascar vanilla bean envelop the palate. Toasted almonds, coconut, and sultanas stand strong on the long, decadent finish. Bottled in an exquisite Baccarat crystal decanter, only 1,000 bottles exist, and a mere 100 have landed here in the United States. This is what the serious whisky connoisseur will ask Santa for this year.
