It's taken Islay over 100 years to bring us a new distillery, and from what we tasted, it was worth the wait. Kilchoman (pronounced keel-ho-man), recently released this 2006 vintage single malt that shows off a broad depth of aromas and flavors for such a young dram. Aromatic notes of brine, tobacco and oak with waves of spicy peat and citrus that mingle on the tongue while slowly transforming into an unctuous finish that lingers for minutes. If you're a fan of Islay big boys like Bowmore and Lagavulin, then you've got to check out Kilchoman!
