While waiting for their own spirits to mature, the guys behind Bull Run Distilling Co. in Portland, Oregon have curated some amazing spirits for their Temperance Trader line. This bourbon boasts a whopping 35% rye, which is almost unheard of these days. The bouquet is filled with ripe pear, sweet smoke and caramelized sugar and baking spice while creamy vanilla, spicy ginger, cinnamon and fresh oak coat the palate and warming the senses. If this “high rye” bourbon is any example of what lies ahead for Bull Run, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on these guys!
