Piero Antinori’s family has been at the wine thing for awhile. Twenty-six generations to be exact, an unbroken chain dating back to 1385. They know what they’re doing. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate found “Lemon peel, flowers, spices and crushed rocks are some of the notes that flow from this taut, mineral-driven wine. Hints of lemon, mint and jasmine reappear on the crisp, delineated finish.” It’s a noble and delicious testament to a mind-boggling legacy.

On an open minded visit to California in 1966 Piero Antinori fell in love with a little spot high in the eastern mountains of Napa Valley. This little valley within the mountains would become the Atlas Peak AVA and Piero would be amongst its greatest champions. Piero seized an opportunity to purchase land in the 1980’s but would not produce a wine with his name on it until the mid 2000’s. “No wine before its time” is his cornerstone belief and Antica Napa Valley would become the proof in the pudding. “Antica” is the shortening and combining of Antinori and California. The farming family has been in the wine business since the late thirteen hundreds and have twenty six generations of experience growing grapes and making exemplary wines. The Tuscan natives bring the motherland’s inspiration with them to the new world winemaking region of Napa Valley, striving to continue their legacy of producing well structured and thoroughly elegant wines. Antica represents the best of both worlds- proven lineage coupled with a freshness that comes with being the new kid on the block.
