  Saturday Night Special
2008 Pursuit Sauvignon Blanc Napa valley High-toned and driven by sophisticated minerality, this showcases the clean lines that one typically associates with white Bordeaux. Stone fruits and a hint of ripe melon are perfectly offset by laster-like focus and precision.

  2008 Pursuit Chardonnay Carneros
Considering just how sophisticated white wine can be, we’re usually not huge fans of the 'over the top' interpretation of California Chardonnay, laden with cloying, unctuous buttery overtones. We tend to drink our wine with food, and the full-throttle style tends to dominate, rather than complement a meal. That’s why you won’t find those flavors in the Chardonnay that we call our own (Pursuit is Bounty Hunter’s own brand). Offering bright tropical nuances, minerality and classic Carneros structure, the ‘08 Pursuit is very clean and – dare we say – user-friendly.

2007 Pursuit 'Cherry Ridge' Syrah Russian River Valley
A single-vineyard superstar, it's like Crozes-Hermitage with a Sebastopol address. With layers of black fruit and leather and the cracked black pepper aromatics that a cool birthplace brings to the grape, this begs for the right country food. We're thinking cassoulet on a chilly evening should do it!

  2006 Pursuit Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville
The longest-tenured wine of the Pursuit lineup and still our most popular. Oakville soil brings forth violets, cassis and black cherries with a blanket of oak toast on the finish. It's still young and rambunctious, but give this some time or a little oxygen and let the games begin!

2006 Pursuit Beckstoffer Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford
We love a man with a mission statement. Andy Beckstoffer's mission has always been 'To be the highest quality grapegrower of Northern California,' and his 40-plus year reputation in the Napa Valley is nothing short of iconic. When we decided to start making our own wines, we turned to a man whose mission mirrored our own. In 2006, we chose to pull prime Cabernet Sauvignon from Andy's famous Vineyard Georges III, a Rutherford property Robert Parker has often said rivals Andy's once unrivaled To Kalon.Winemaker Tim Milos was thrilled with the 2006 growing season at Georges III, yet another banner year for Napa Valley Cabernet. The growing season was long - harvest started a little later than usual - and the grapes came in fully ripe. With the perfect, extended hang time, wines were certainly 'made in the vineyard' that year. Tim expertly guided this concentrated Cabernet from harvest to barrel, aging it for 20 months in French oak. Only 30% was new, and the result is a wine that feels neither overblown nor overweight. Instead, tannins and acids are fully integrated, creating seamless flavors and complexity. When the fruit's as good as it can get, why mask it?

  2008 Pursuit Pinot Noir Carneros
The 2008 Pursuit Pinot Noir came from family-owned vineyard in the Carneros region. Known for its mixed soils of clay, sandstone and volcanic rock and ash, the marine breezes and cooling fogs that roll over this hilly acreage make it perfect for temperamental Pinot Noir. Although our confidentiality agreement means we can't tell you which 30-year old farming family owns this property, we can tell you that three vintages of family's own label (from the same vineyard and farmed identically) have been included in the Wine Spectator's 'Top 100 Wines in the World.'Getting our hands on fruit like this involves years of haggling, followed by hours of blending and tasting. Winemaker Reed Renaudin hand harvested this juicy Pinot Noir and took it to his certified organic winery. Because the Pinot from this vineyard tends to be rather intense, Reed balanced the rich fruit and tannins with a judicious 60.40 blend of new and used oak. After ten months, the wine came out mouthwateringly silky. It's no wonder we pour more of this by the glass at our Napa wine bar than any other wine on the list.Ultimate Food Pairing: A simple Coq au Vin.MARCH 2010 CLUB PINOT WINE SELECTION
