There aren’t enough superlatives to describe the wines of Harlan Estate. The exclusive mountain winery established by real estate mogul turned vintner Bill Harlan is legendary for the precise perfection of their high-scoring wines vintage after vintage.
Robert Parker gave Harlan’s Proprietary Red 100-point scores in both 2001 and 2002, one of the first times that’s ever happened. He called the 2002 “one of the most showy, flamboyant and remarkable Harlan Estates made to date.” It’s a massive display of Napa Valley Cab, a rich and voluptuous wine with dark fruit notes, coffee, black tea leaves and spice. It can age a couple decades easily, but it's quite appealing in its youth.
