Engaging and complex, showing a smooth core of dark berry, black licorice and creamy mocha-tinged oak, with tobacco and cedar hints.
Adler-Deutsch's owners and founders Bob Adler and Alexis Deutsch-Adler have had a love affair with wine for a long time. Fantastic wine and delicious meals have always been the centerpieces of family life in the Adler home. It was only a matter of time before Bob Adler would take the plunge and start making his own. Bob and Alexis found a parcel of land along Napa's acclaimed Rutherford Bench and took the leap in 2004. In these sedimentary, gravelly and alluvial soils - collectively called Pleasant loam - multiple clones of Cabernet vines were planted. An industry visionary put them in touch with winemaker extraordinaire Keith Emerson, who now lends his talent to the project. He's hands-on at every stage, from bud-break through fermentation, blending, and all the way to the finished bottle. This tiny production Cab house has earned a place on our "Great Producers to Watch" List!
