2010 I Favati 'Terzotratto' Taurasi Campania

After fermentation in stainless steel, this age-worthy red spent a little over a year in small oak barrels, then another year in large barrels and half a year in back in stainless and then bottle. This is a wine that rewards the patient! Aromas of anise, tar and raspberry currently dominate the nose, while the velvety palate opens up with loads of raspberry fruit plus minerals and light oak. The tannins are fine but persistent on the lengthy finish.
