2012 Eighty Four Petite Sirah Napa Valley

$49.95
VN93

Tamed for four years in luxurious new French oak, this is the biggest, baddest Petite we can think of from the Napa Valley. The black fruit intensity here is going to rock you. “Dark red cherry, mocha, new leather, cloves and rose petal all meld together in the 2012 Petite Sirah. Winemaker Elias Fernandez has done a terrific job in taming the Petite tannins and allowing the fruit to really shine through.” - Vinous

The dynamic duo of Doug Shafer and Elias Fernandez have been partners in crime since 1984 (guess where they got the name), and you can't write the history of Napa Valley without including both of these gentlemen. Doug Shafer (Shafer Vineyards) has been an instrumental force in taking the brand his father, John, started, and has seen it multiply and grow into one of the true behemoths of Napa Cab. Winemaker Elias Fernandez has been a part of Shafer Vineyards for two decades, and has made some of the best wines the valley has ever seen, including Shafer's 2008 Relentless, Wine Spectator's Top wine of 2012.
