2012 Lang & Reed 'T Bar T Ranch' Cabernet Franc Alexander Valley
A decade in the making, this Monograph Collection Cabernet Franc reflects Lang & Reed's unwavering pursuit of excellence in Northern California. Sourced from the rugged T-Bar-T Ranch, a historic hillside vineyard in Alexander Valley, this wine exudes the balance and grace of its terroir. Aged for 32 months in a mix of new and seasoned Sylvain barrels, it now reveals a captivating bouquet of dried cranberry, sandalwood, and cocoa, with savory hints of truffle and air-dried meats. The palate is luxurious yet vibrant, delivering maturity with a lively, mouthwatering finish. A testament to the elegance of Cabernet Franc.
James Suckling
This is so beautiful now with aged tobacco, berry and licorice. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins. Only about a barrel made and aged all this time. Totally resolved and beautiful. Drinks perfectly now.
Decanter
Fruit from T-Bar-T Ranch, an old cattle farm in the eastern ridgeline of Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, forms the basis of this blend—a striking potpourri of creme de cassis, red currants, and loamy earth. There might be a hint of VA, but it's a welcome hint. Full-bodied, with tremendous volume, absolutely polished tannins with a rich chocolaty finish, intricate black tea tannins, and more loamy earth on the long, satisfying, succulent finish.
