If you're looking for a truly rare and great bottle of Red Burgundy for cellaring, look no further than this fantastic example of Chambertin Clos de Beze from Ponsot. Burghound flipped for it, saying There is a firm mineral streak that adds a sense of lift to the beautifully well-delineated, muscular and vibrant flavors that culminate in a textured, mouth coating and impeccably well-balanced finale. This possesses simply terrific overall depth and this is textbook Bèze.""
The 2013 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru might very well turn out to be Laurent Ponsot's best offering this vintage. It has a very well-defined, almost crystalline bouquet with wonderful mineralité percolating through the shimmering red berry fruit. The palate possesses brilliant delineation and poise. This is not a deep or titanic Clos de Bèze, but it is interwoven with a killer line of acidity and demonstrates more complexity and finesse than the Chambertin on the finish. This is just...beautiful.
