Galloni loved this Cabernet’s rich style, noting that “Black cherry, bittersweet chocolate, menthol, licorice, and pine are some of the signatures... Bold, ripe and flamboyant, the 2013 is one of the few wines in this vintage that won't require considerable time in bottle to drink well. As always, this is an especially opulent, ripe style.” The winery describes “griottes cherries, currant, leather and tea leaves,” enticing us even more. Why not mix up a case of the two wines?

Wine Advocate

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is starting to close down after being bottled. There are 400 cases of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, which was aged in 100% new French oak for 27 months. This is a collector’s item that reminds me of a Soda Canyon version of the great Philip Togni’s Cabernet Sauvignon from Spring Mountain. Dense purple to the rim, with plenty of crème de cassis and hints of forest floor, truffle and white flowers, the wine is spicy, rich, multi-dimensional, with beautiful purity and a finish of close to 45+ seconds. This is great stuff, but it needs another 3-4 years of bottle age and should drink well for 20 or more years
