The vineyard sources for this wine are Haystack and Cloudy's Nest. They are both high elevation, rocky sites on Atlas Peak and Mt. Veeder. These challenging conditions force the vines to struggle just enough for incredible concentration of fruit. This beauty is rich, with powerful spice and blackberry aromas. Features a concentrated palate loaded with earthy flavors of clove and licorice. Bookended with powerful tannin, this wine has the depth and structure for substantial aging. With a handful of years of aging already in the bottle, this gem is also ready to drink now...enjoy!
As for the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon BRV, it's a winner. Loads of crème de cassis, blackberry, licorice and forest floor. The wine is full-bodied, powerful and in need of another 4-5 years of cellaring, then should drink well for 25-30 years.
