Weatherby Red is sneakily great for the money! Brambly black fruit, cherries, and a dusty, earthy component make this Cab-Merlot-Cab Franc blend so compelling. This is going to vanish at your next dinner party this winter!"- Lee Reinsimar, Wine Scout

While the provenance and pedigree of Weatherby is hush-hush by contract, we can say this seductive Bordeaux blend is fashioned from fruit exclusively in the heart of Napa Valley. As you may have heard, 2013 was a pretty amazing vintage, one that Robert Parker called the best he’s tasted in the last 37 years. Layers of cherry cobbler and cedar lead into dark chocolate notes with a lasting palate impression of boysenberry jam that keeps on coming. Yum yum gimme some."

While the provenance and pedigree of this Bounty Hunter blend are hush-hush by contract, we can say that this elegant Bordeaux-style blend is fashioned from fruit grown in Napa Valley’s Oak Knoll and Pritchard Hill districts. Pritchard Hill has long been recognized for producing cult-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon; there’s a reason Colgin and Bryant Family made the high elevation region home base. Oak Knoll, too, has been rapidly gaining fame for its exceptionally elegant Right Bank grapes, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. For the Weatherby label, we let the wine express its place. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot spent 24 months in only 50% new French oak before going into bottle. With its fine grained tannins and formidable backbone, the only thing understated about Weatherby is the price.
