Claus Janzen is a man who knows Cabernet. Having worked for and with some very prominent Napa properties over the years, he understands the rhythms of the vineyard and what it takes to make great stuff. He's also an innovator in the cellar, having successfully spearheaded wines like Bacio Divino, where non-traditional combinations have enjoyed considerable critical praise. Robert Parker commented that "the strength of his portfolio remains his innovative blends." Working with Nils Venge, the first American winemaker to ever receive a "100-point" rating, and Nils' talented son Kirk, Claus continues to expand his offerings, including a very limited batch of single-vineyard, single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignons from a few very select vineyards. We expect his string of success to continue well into the future.
