2014 Domaine de la Côte Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills

$39.95

Decanter called the 2014 Domaine de la Côte one of the best wines of the year from the US, claiming “Their estate bottling is like a juicy cross between Burgundy’s Volnay and Beaujolais’ Morgon.” This beauty has a pale red color with perfumed flavors of bing cherry, allspice and leather. The wine is soft textured and finishes with silky tannins. If properly cellared, it should have a long life and develop aromas and flavors of great complexity over the next 7+ years.

Domaine de la Côte -- a project by star somm Rajat Parr and winemaker Sashi Moorman -- is pushing the limits of the appellation’s coolest slopes, and the wines are stunning. They’re more than a little Burgundian, but with aromatics and generous fruit that say Sta. Rita Hills. “Sashi Moorman and Rajat Parr make their Pinots taste effortlessly elegant, but it’s a fine-tuned approach in the cellar and ultra-attentive viticulture that achieve those mouthwatering results,” Decanter's Carson Demmond noted.
