2014 Grimm's Bluff "Contango" Cabernet Sauvignon Happy Canyon

$74.95

Grimm’s Bluff is the creation of Rick and Aurora Grimm, oil industry veterans who in 2010 and 2011 purchased a total of 243 acres on Kentucky Road in the Santa Ynez Valley. From the very beginning, the Grimms have been committed to biodynamic farming, recruiting consultant Philippe Coderey, as well as gifted winemaker Paul Lato, before vines even went in the ground. We’re going to be hearing quite a bit in the coming years from this outstanding new producer in Santa Barbara County.

We loved this wine for its fresh, clean and pure Cabernet flavors and its balance. You can drink this wine now or enjoy it over the next 8 years or so. The Wine Enthusiast loved its “black cherry pie and melted dark chocolate aromas. The palate is lush and soft but framed with rigid tannins that support its ripe blueberry, vanilla and crushed clove flavors. It's built for ageing.”
