2014 Domaine Laroche Cabernet Sauvignon Pays d'Oc
From one of the sunniest corners of France comes this carefree, gulpable Cabernet brimming with violets, cassis, and fresh grape aromas.
By the early 1960s, as the Chablis appellation began to expand thanks to better frost-protection techniques, young Michel Laroche, then only a teenager, foresaw that the appellation was going to grow significantly. He saw his opening and decided to dedicate his life to winemaking. After getting a degree in oenology in Dijon, Michel joined his dad Henri in the winery, and over the next 20 years they expanded their holdings dramatically. Fast forward to the present day, and Domaine Laroche is a large multinational wine firm with vineyard holdings in Chablis, Languedoc, Chile, and South Africa.
