2014 Peirson Meyer 'Bateman' Pinot Noir Sonoma County

“Peirson Meyer is one of Sonoma’s most under the radar wineries. Founded by a group of Peter Michael veterans, Peirson Meyer excels with racy, resonant wines long on personality…the Chardonnay and Pinots show a very classic forward expression of California fruit, with impeccable balance and tons of pure appeal.” - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Peirson Meyer is a partnership between Robbie Meyer, who spent five vintages working at Peter Michael Winery as well as two vintages as winemaker for Lewis Cellars, and Alan Peirson, who for 20 years designed, built, and managed what is now the Peter Michael Winery Estate. Together the pair also own and run L’Angevin.

Bateman Vineyard is on Mill Station Road just southwest of Graton in Sonoma County, not too far from DuMol. This is deep and rich, with notes of black tea, pomegranate, red cherries, and baking spices, a fabulous wine for drinking now or over the next 5 years or so.
