2014 Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Spring Mountain
Phillip Togni - who was making wine in the Napa Valley before Alaska was a State - made a knockout 2014. Today he and his daughter Lisa farm Phillip Togni Vineyard, a totally self-sufficient estate on Spring Mountain, and make an extremely rare, old-school, Margaux-type" Cabernet blend there. Togni's 2013 wine garnered a perfect 100-point score from Antonio Galloni, which is a tough act to follow. But for Togni, who has made more legendary wines than almost anyone in the valley, (e.g. 1969 Chappellet), 2014 was a walk in the park:
"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is wonderfully savory and mineral, with a host of graphite, liquefied rock, floral and dark stone fruit notes that open up in the glass. Energetic, crystalline and beautifully focused throughout, the 2014 exudes class from the very first taste. Today, the 2014 is shaping up to be another über-classic wine from Togni." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
We have secured a small allocation of this personal, handcrafted wine from a respected master of Mountain Cabernet. Only 1,600 cases were made; this is eminently collectible and grand Cabernet Sauvignon, so act quickly to lay in your case. "
