This ravishing, almost Vosne-Romanée-like Pinot Noir comes from the Starscape Vineyard, which was once known as Floodgate, and prior to that, Mark West Vineyard. It’s located on Trenton-Healdsburg Road, on the southern end of an area known as the Middle Reach of the Russian River. The Middle Reach is arguably the most iconic area for Russian River Pinot noir, and indeed Starscape is immediately south and adjacent to Kistler Vineyard and Ritchie Vineyard. We loved this wine’s exoticism and its haunting red fruit aromas and sap. Just gorgeous Pinot!
