2014 Tamber Bey 'Rabicano' Proprietary Red Yountville

$44.95 $59.95 (-25%)

The Deux Chevaux Vineyard, in Yountville, is largely influenced by the early morning fogs and late afternoon winds coming into the valley from the San Francisco Bay. The unique micro-climates produced here are perfect for Bordeaux vines like Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot.

"Rabicano" is a beautifully balanced and drinkable Cabernet-Merlot blend from this picturesque vineyard near the Napa River in Yountville. Winemaker Frédéric Delivert, together with rock star Thomas Rivers Brown, crafted this beautifully drinkable, figgy, truffly, cherry-laden red.

In the vines or in the paddock, the only things Barry Waitte raises are champions. Waitte, an alum of Apple, AOL, and numerous other ventures, bought a 60-acre vineyard in the heart of Yountville in 1999. As a longtime equestrian, he named his winery after his first two Arabian horses, Tamborina and Bayamo. Rockstar winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown has consulted here since 2001, making this an unquestionably "under-the-radar" producer with, thankfully for all of us, reality-based pricing.
