2015 Addax 'Tench' Cabernet Sauvignon

Can’t wait for Russell’s own “Tench” bottling in the fall? Grab this one. In case you didn’t know, Tench Vineyard is adjacent to none other than Screaming Eagle. This is one of the greatest terroirs of the Napa Valley that you’ve never heard of. The Wine Advocate loved this wine’s “notions of black cherries, cassis and red and black plums with hints of dried Mediterranean herbs, pencil shavings and underbrush. Full-bodied, rich, ripe and seductive in the mouth, it has a satisfying core of black fruit and earthy layers with firm, grainy tannins and a long, savory finish.”

Addax is a project from two wine-loving buddies, Brian Kearney and Josh Peeples, and they chose Russell Bevan to be their winemaker. This is a brand to watch, with many more great wines in the pipeline! It’s hard to believe that this little winery is already in their 10th vintage, and just now starting to creep into the forward radar of the press and the public.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the Addax 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Tench Vineyard gives up notions of black cherries, cassis and red and black plums with hints of dried Mediterranean herbs, pencil shavings and underbrush. Full-bodied, rich, ripe and seductive in the mouth, it has a satisfying core of black fruit and earthy layers with firm, grainy tannins and a long, savory finish.
