This Cabernet, hewn from the Meteor Vineyard, deserves your special attention. More than one of us might say that this is the finest Cabernet Sauvignon in this catalog. It’s that good, brimming with overwhelming aromas of huckleberry and blackberry fruit. Galloni agreed, calling it “outrageously beautiful. Exotic and beguiling, the 2015 is a wine of total seduction. Blueberry jam, star anise, plum, sage, chocolate and cinnamon all develop in the glass. Silky tannins add to the wine’s sumptuous, racy feel. What a gorgeous wine this is.”
By now you're likely familiar with the Arietta label, which was born out of a friendship/partnership between wine specialist and auctioneer Fritz Hatton and winemaker John Kongsgaard. Both lovers of classical music and classic wines, their inspiration for Arietta is rooted in a special 2.3 acre block of Cabernet Franc on Lee Hudson's iconic Carneros ranch. In 2005 Fritz Hatton and wife Caren bought out the Kongsgaard family's interest in Arietta and brought on former Harlan Estate powerhouse Andy Erickson as winemaker (he's also the man behind Screaming Eagle and Dalla Valle, as well). We hope you enjoy their wines as much as we do.
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep garnet-purple color with a nose of cassis and black cherries plus hints of dusty soil, sautéed herbs and chargrill. Medium to full-bodied and soft, velvety and approachable in the mouth, it has plenty of generous fruit and great length.
Another gorgeous wine, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is outrageously beautiful. Exotic and beguiling, the 2015 is a wine of total seduction. Blueberry jam, star anise, plum, sage, chocolate and cinnamon all develop in the glass. Like all of the Arietta 2015s, the Cabernet Sauvignon is all class. Silky tannins add to the wine's sumptuous, racy feel. What a gorgeous wine this is. The 2015 was sourced entirely from the Meteor estate in Coombsville.
