2015 Brewer-Clifton '3D' Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills

This hits on at least three levels with aromatics, flavors, and texture galore. They farm the small Pinot Noir portion of the 3D Vineyard specifically for whole cluster fermentation, focusing as much on the ripening of the stem as the fruit. There’s a special kind of earthy harmony achieved here that’s unique, structured, and beautifully rich, while still keeping that classic saline character and freshness of the Sta. Rita Hills. These wines are made for aging in the cellar, but you’ll be pleased to know this one is coming into full-surround-sound-beauty right this minute.

Wine Enthusiast

This is Greg Brewer's appellation blend rather than his single-vineyard expressions, but it's still incredibly dynamic and delicious. A fresh and fruity strawberry-slushie aroma is met with notes of crushed slate and star anise-spiced cookies on the nose. The palate is bright in flavors of slightly tart cherries and ripe cranberries, but then come juniper and pine needle on the midpalate. Acidity pumps into the pomegranate and menthol finish.
