2015 was a superb vintage in Bordeaux, and this beauty is really starting to strut its stuff right now. 60% Merlot is balanced out with 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, throwing down generous red fruit doused in vanilla, coconut and wood spice from a year in wood. The palate is silky and round, with nice tannin structure and a very satisfying length. You’d be hard pressed to find a better Bordeaux for the price.
With a good balance between the 60% Merlot and 40% of the two Cabernets, this wood-aged wine shows a rounded, generous character. It is still structured and still shows a touch of smokiness from the wood. However, the rich black fruits are beginning to shine.
