Made with grapes sourced from a special walled vineyard, this terroir parcel creates wines with vivid color, aromas of fresh red cherries, strawberries and minerality with a pleasing tension on the palate.
The Bourgogne-Devaux family has made its home in the vine-covered hills of the Hautes-Côtes since the late 1800s. Winemaker Luc Bourgogne (the ideal name for a winemaker) represents the fourth generation in Meloisey to care for vines and craft wines from the family’s many older-vine plots. For decades, the Bourgogne-Devaux family sold most of its grapes to other winemakers. In 2012, Luc Bourgogne decided the family should return to bottling its own wines, following in the footsteps of his grandparents who did the same. Vines are cared for according to “lutte raisonée” principles, following organic practices and avoiding chemical treatments as much as possible.
