Jigar family vineyards is in the far corner of Russian River Valley near many highly acclaimed vineyards. They presented their Reserve Pinot Noir to us and we thought it was a steal at $65 a bottle. When they whispered the special-friend price we swooped up everything we could get!
This 2015 is perfumed with ripe raspberries, candied plums and has a smooth, fine, and elegant passage on the palate. It’s juicy, fresh and ready to enjoy all spring and summer. Grab your case before it’s sold out!
Jigar Patel is the fun-loving mastermind behind this winery, and why wouldn’t he be a bon vivant? His first name is a Hindi word for love and affection, courage, heart and one who lives life to the fullest. The winemaker here is Josh Bartels, an alum of Kokomo Winery for over 10 years. Josh met Jigar in college at Purdue University, and the two bonded over a shared love of fine wine. Today they also own Sedition Wines together. The style of these wines is infectious: juicy, fruit-driven, fleshy and low in acid. We had to have them.
This has attractive, ripe raspberries and red plums with a smooth array of fine and elegant tannins that cut a fresh and juicy line to the finish. There’s an impressive sense of depth, detail and elegance here. Drink or hold.
