85% of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a very famous alluvial site in Oakville, and the remaining 15% comes from an equally famous alluvial site in St. Helena. We can't reveal their identities without the consequences of contractual jurisprudence catching up with us. Look for fresh and dried blackcurrants, sweet pipe tobacco, black cherries, and marzipan in this indulgent Cabernet Sauvignon. Each bottle is individually numbered, and frankly many Cabernets from nearby vineyards sell for twice as much!
Jurisprudence is well-named, because if we were to divulge the vineyard sources of this Cabernet, we would soon find one or more legal practitioners lighting up line one. This wine is our ace in the hole. In the simplest terms, Jurisprudence is a pure barrel selection. We taste every lot from our Beckstoffer To Kalon plots in the cellar and identify the parcels we believe will be ready for action ahead of the rest. It's not a qualitative assessment as such. We're just looking for the flowers that we think are going to bloom first. It’s the precocious little brother to the Justice Series wines.
