2015 Juslyn 'Perry's Blend' Proprietary Red Spring Mountain District

$54.95

“The 2015 Perry's Blend is deep garnet-purple colored and reveals fragrant kirsch, stewed tea and rose scents with touches of sandalwood, preserved plums, blackberry pie and mulberries plus eucalyptus and tilled soil. The palate is full-bodied and boldly fruited with a firm, velvety frame and a very long, multilayered finish.” – The Wine Advocate Here’s another antidote to the $100 Cabernet blues—a totally voluptuous, pure, and inviting Spring Mountain red priced well below California wholesale. Will a case be enough?

Ever noticed how Spring Mountain is an enclave for British expatriates? Peter Newton founded Newton Vineyard in 1977, Philip Togni followed soon after in 1981, and Juslyn Vineyards was created in 1997 by Perry and Carolyn Butler, both originally from England. Could it have something to do with the structure and balance that comes from Spring Mountain grapes? Wines from good years in this AVA are spectacularly long-lived – 10-25 years from a good producer are typically no problem. And Brits do love old wine. Structure and age-ability are one thing, but sex appeal is also a requirement, at least in our households. Juslyn Estate Cabernet Sauvignon has exactly the kind of juicy, forward, beckoning personality we look for in mountain Cabernet. And because it’s flying so deep under the radar, it’s an exceedingly fair price for the quality.
