Stephane Vedeau’s La Ferme du Mont is an up-and-coming superstar of the Southern Rhone. This blend, raised mostly in concrete, is a full-bodied, fruit-forward, beautifully textured wine with plums, blackberries, licorice, pepper and smoked herbs all coming into play from first to final sip.
The 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Vendange checks in as a blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre that was raised mostly in concrete tanks, with just 10% in barrel. Plums, blackberries, licorice, hints of pepper and smoked herbs all emerge from this full-bodied, fruit forward, beautifully textured Châteauneuf du Pape that has solid underlying structure. It will keep for 10-15 years.
