2015 Domaine Vacheron Sauvignon Blanc Loire Valley Sancerre

(0) No Reviews yet

Year in and year out, the Vacherons bottle the very essence of Sauvignon Blanc. An annual staff favorite, the '15 is gorgeous, a little riper than the 2014, serving up guava, grapefruit and gunsmoke in equal parts with a bracing, finely tuned finish.

Details

The Vacheron family has come a long way from the days when great-grandfather Maurice tended a few acres of silex (the flint-rich soils that helped put the Loire Valley on the winegrowing map) along a small village road in Sancerre. While his son, Jean, was responsible for turning his grandfather's small hobby into a full-fledged wine business, grandsons Denis and Jean-Louis are the men who turned Domaine Vacheron into a world renowned wine estate. Today, they remain a true family business, with Denis managing the vineyard, Jean-Louis controlling cellar operations, Denis' son Jean-Laurent tending vines alongside his father, and his cousin Jean-Dominique apprenticing in the winery.
