“As is often the case chez Girardin, this is a bigger and richer if less refined wine than the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet with very generous and overtly powerful imposingly-scaled flavors that deliver huge length” notes Burghound. Vincent Girardin’s style of Burgundy is more “new world” in style – big, rich and heady. We often recommend our customers try his wines that are fans of Marcassin or Peter Michael as they share some of the same stylistic signatures a world away. However, the major difference will always be the ability for this wine to age for decades if you choose to do so compared to its California counterparts. But, given its forward style, it will be approachable early if you are impatient and want to savor it right away. Highly recommended for collectors or those new to the pinnacle of greatness in the Cote d’Or.
