With a winemaking dream team and a magic terroir near the summit of Spring Mountain, it’s no mystery why the wines of Vineyard 7 & 8 have won such acclaim. The consulting winemaker since 2011 is Martha McClellan, a veteran of Harlan Estate, Sloan, Blankiet, and of course her own domaine, Levy & McClellan. The day-to-day winemaker is Wesley Steffens, who had a long apprenticeship at Harlan Estate. The Wine Advocate loved this wine’s “earthy/meaty nose with herbal notions over a core of cassis, crushed plums and blackberries, plus cedar chest and menthol hints.”

With a winemaking dream team and a magic terroir near the summit of Spring Mountain, it’s no mystery why the wines of Vineyard 7 & 8 have won such acclaim. Vineyard 7 & 8 is named in recognition of proprietor Launny Steffens’ life and background in the world of finance. His appreciation for numbers and keen interest in numerology inspired 7 & 8: “Seven” being a lucky number in western culture, while “Eight” confers prosperity and happiness in eastern culture.
