Crescere’s Cabernet is a rich and incredibly powerful Melka masterpiece, showcasing boulder-like geometric tannins that just keep building through the knockout finish. The nose is expressive and alluring, with dark fruit and violets, but the palate is over-the-top delicious. A core of succulent black currant and plum mingle with tobacco, chocolate and gunpowder. Remarkably pure, this is a gift that will keep giving for two decades.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon comes all from the estate Reynoso Vineyard in the Alexander Valley and saw 22 months in 80% new oak. It’s a rich, incredibly powerful wine that has sensational notes of black currants, high-class smoke tobacco, chocolate, and leafy herbs. With remarkable purity, building tannins, and a great, great finish, it’s going to keep for 20-25 years. I followed this bottle for multiple days and it only improved with air.
