2016 Fisher 'Unity' Pinot Noir Anderson Valley is a shining example of Anderson Valley fruit. Bright red cherry, earthiness and spicy aromatics lead the senses. A clean palate with linear fruit derived from small oak, cement and stainless steel fermentation, this is a Pinot for the purists. Full of character and subtleties, this is a standout. Love!
This wine includes three separate blocks from Ferrington Vineyard (Pomard, 667 and 828 Clones), as well as an exclusive, mountain vineyard site southwest of Boonville.
The Fisher family has the sort of vineyards that will cause a winemaker’s pulse to quicken – a vitally important advantage in a game where the conversation starts (and ends) with raw materials. From their gorgeous estate property on the Sonoma side of the Mayacamas range, to their Lamb vineyard in Calistoga, they have some magical land at their disposal. Winemaker Whitney Fisher and her team are farming these plots to exacting standards, and the results are some of the best wines in the Valley! You owe it to yourself to mix up a case of these fabulous wines.
The 2016 Pinot Noir, from Fearrington in Anderson Valley, is pliant, supple and super-expressive, with tremendous fruit presence and tons of sheer appeal. Lush and voluptuous in the glass, with gorgeous intensity, the 2016 Pinot is a pure joy to taste. The 35% whole clusters add layers of nuance without overpowering the wine.
