Jean-Claude Boisset founded his namesake négociant winery in 1961 at the age of 18 and produces wines with an audacious, authentic swagger. The grapes of this cuvée come exclusively from the plot "Au quartier", located in the village of Couchey, a few hundred yards from the appellation Fixin. This location with its middle of the hill, full-east exposure, gives ripe fruit that is supple and well balanced. If there is such a thing as an everyday drinking Burgundy then this is it.
