“Todos” means everything, and this wine is that! The 2016 is a predominantly Syrah and Cabernet blend that is subtly balanced with nuances of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese and Viognier. Texture and velvety layers of ripe raspberry, black currant preserves, warm baking spices and chewy tannins create a panoramic view of Jonata’s Ballard Canyon property, blending all of the varietals grown there into something powerful and coherent.

That low rumbling sound you hear is Jonata’s (hoe-na-ta) rocket engines warming up for takeoff. Established as a cousin winery to Napa’s acclaimed Screaming Eagle, their first commercial vintage in 2004 caused a stir among mailing list cognoscenti. Then the momentum began to build in the trade. And then Robert Parker called them “one of California’s most exciting new wineries” in a review, and the floodgates blasted open with collectors and connoisseurs scrambling to find their wares. Folks, we’re thrilled to tell you where you can get them! As Robert Parker has remarked, “What they are accomplishing with Bordeaux varietals is mind-boggling.” We can’t really make it any easier for you…

Jonata’s Todos is always a kitchen sink blend, and the 2016 is 60% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and the rest Petite Sirah and Viognier. It has stunning notes of black currants, crushed violets, liquid rocks, and graphite. This is followed by a full-bodied, beautifully pure, elegant wine that has terrific balance, awesome purity, and a great, great finish.
