This festive Chateauneuf du Pape greets the nose with a baker’s cupboard of delightful spice notes, clove, allspice and cinnamon, dusted overplums and cherry preserves. Fine-grained, persistent tannins and even more fruit preserves linger on the finish. A little over half Grenache, with Mourvedre and Syrah picking up the slack, this would be a lovely holiday bottle to enjoy year-round.
Alluring, with a mulled edge to the lightly dried red and black currant fruit, along with star anise, tobacco and incense notes. A light sandalwood coating on the finish leaves a textural impression. Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah.
