2016 North Valley Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

In 2005, Tony Soter launched North Valley Pinot Noir as a side project to his own Soter Vineyards, which he established in 1997. “North Valley” has a double meaning. It’s the name of a road east of Yamhill where luminaries like Beaux-Frères and Patricia Green Cellars are located, and it also describes Tony’s sourcing strategy: to make the greatest Pinot Noirs he possibly can using purchased fruit from the north end of the Willamette Valley, (e.g. north of Salem.)

Today North Valley is its own standalone winery with its own tasting room, with wines made by James Cahill. We love this wine’s sweet pomegranate, cherry, and candied cranberry fruit, and its earthy tones that remind you you’re in Oregon.
