Exceptional and elegant: all the characteristics of the best Brunello di Montalcino are expressed in the new Cru of Brunello di Montalcino signed by Poggio Landi. The wine gets its name from the place where is located the vine of 1 hectare, literally “closed” in the wood. Obtained from 100% Sangiovese grapes and traditionally vinified, after two weeks of natural and spontaneous fermentation, the wine is decanted into large French oak barrels of 30 Hl and 54Hl, where it will age for 38 months. Subsequently refined in the bottle for at least 6 months. Deep ruby red with garnet reflections, the nose expresses hints of licorice and black cherry, with deep references of wild berries and leather. The sip releases impetuous tannins of great strength and persistence.
Though reserved in aroma, this red boasts ample cherry, black currant, violet and mineral flavors, with underlying woodsy accents. The vibrant structure lends definition, and this is more about finesse than power. Shows fine length, with a chalky feel. Best from 2023 through 2042. 1,000 cases made, 100 cases imported.
A fine-tannined and pretty Brunello with currant, walnut and floral aromas and flavors. It’s medium-to full-bodied, firm and focused. Drink after 2022.
