Lemorel continues to be characterized by its strong acid backbone. The acidity provides a brightness that further highlights the fruit in the wine. Dried red cherry, tart blackberry, fresh berry compote, fresh apricot, and spiced plums quarrel amongst one another to be heard. Fruit yields to a hint of violets, amongst other spices and herbs. An exotic yet faint note of sarsaparilla is perceived amongst characters of sage and thyme. Finally, the familiar baking spice aromas of vanilla bean and cinnamon provides a fitting conclusion to this special estate zinfandel.
