Remoissenet (ruh-mwah-sun-eh) is a winery with absolutely fanatical quality obsession that makes the wines truly great. The estate was founded in 1877 and is best known for its Grand and Premier Cru Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, in 2005 the estate was sold, and they brought in Pierre Rovani (Robert Parker’s former critic for the region) to run everything. These are serious Burgundies that hit all the high points and then some! “Les Grand Epenots” is one of the top Premier Cru vineyards in all of the Cote de Beaune and a definite candidate for promotion to Grand Cru. Muscular, yet floral, this wine is filled with bright red cherries, baking spices, wild strawberries. This is hands-down the finest red for the price coming out of Pommard right now.
