Crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a killer example of the Oakville terroir’s natural proclivity for growing world-class Cabernet. Diligent farming and winemaking, including a good long rest in 86% new French oak, turn that gorgeous fruit into a near-perfect wine with tremendous depth and character. This vineyard selection blend bursts with cassis, blackberry pie and plum preserves over menthol, lilac and a touch of char. This is a rock-solid, intense Cab from one of the best parts of Oakville, destined to hold a place of honor in your cellar.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Samantha's is made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 21 months in 86% new French oak. This is a vineyard selection blend usually harvested slightly later. Very deep purple-black in color, it leaps from the glass with vibrant cassis, blackberry pie and preserved plums scents with nuances of mocha, pencil shavings, menthol, lilacs and cloves plus a touch of chargrilled meat. The medium to full-bodied palate is super intense with layer upon layer of black fruits, savory and floral notions and a rock-solid foundation of grainy tannins, finishing very long and very minerally.
