The fuder-fermented Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Auslese Anrecht is a concentrated, sweet but salty-piquant and well-structured Auslese with good grip and tension and lingering salinity. This Auslese is made to be combined with food.
The 2016 Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Auslese "Anrecht" (AP 36 17) has a deep, spicy bouquet of super ripe and concentrated fruits intermixed with slightly oaky notes, although the wine has never seen a fuder. Intense, piquant and structured on the palate, this is a moderately sweet, fresh and structured Riesling with salt, grip and tension in the finish. This is not a classic Auslese but a terroir-driven wine with concentration, grip and mineral tension. The finish is salty and almost drying, so the sweetness doesn't weigh that much here. Impressive.
